Compounded topical Finasteride/Minoxidil/Tretinoin is prepared by a licensed US pharmacy and is not FDA-approved. Prescription only; requires a licensed provider’s review. Not for use by anyone who is pregnant, may become pregnant or is breastfeeding; people who are or may become pregnant should not handle the product. Topical finasteride can be absorbed into the body and may cause the same side effects as oral finasteride.
Finasteride has been associated with sexual side effects, including decreased libido, erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems, which may persist in rare cases after stopping; tell your provider about any mood changes, including depression or thoughts of self-harm. Minoxidil may cause scalp irritation or itching, a temporary increase in shedding in the first weeks, and unwanted hair growth on the face or body; rarely, dizziness, swelling or a fast heartbeat — stop and contact your provider if these occur.
Minoxidil is toxic to cats: wash your hands after applying and keep pets away from treated areas until dry. Tretinoin can cause scalp redness, dryness, peeling and increased sun sensitivity; protect treated skin from the sun.
Results typically take 3 to 6 months, vary by person, and are maintained only with continued use. Sudden or patchy hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition and should be evaluated.
