Finasteride is a prescription medication and requires a licensed provider’s review. Compounded Finasteride capsules are prepared by a licensed US pharmacy and are not FDA-approved. Not for use by anyone who is pregnant, may become pregnant or is breastfeeding; people who are or may become pregnant should not handle the product. Use in women is off-label and limited to patients who cannot become pregnant, at a provider’s discretion.
Finasteride has been associated with sexual side effects, including decreased libido, erectile dysfunction and ejaculation problems, which may persist in rare cases after stopping; tell your provider about any mood changes, including depression or thoughts of self-harm. Finasteride can lower PSA test results — tell any doctor who orders a PSA test that you take it.
Results typically take 3 to 6 months, vary by person, and are maintained only with continued use. Sudden or patchy hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition and should be evaluated.
